Confidence Interval (CI)

A measurement of the variation in the metabolite profile of the registered cultivar or product for a specific product matrix.

The illustration is an ordination diagram, which shows the principal components of a metabolite profile, which can then be measured using multivariate statistics.

In this example we observe the relationship between a mother plant and eight of its clone plants. In this instance, all clone plants are within a 98% confidence interval of their mother, indicating a variation in the metabolite profile of no more than 2%.
